Meet Erika

A serious injury left snocross racer Erika Rau with a severely damaged aorta and a fractured neck. She was rushed to UW Hospital and Clinics where doctors performed minimally invasive emergency heart surgery. During her recovery, she trained for and ran a marathon and is now back on the trails. Luke Lamers, MD

Dr. Lamers leads the Pediatric Catheterization team and the Pulmonary Hypertension program, and also participates in diagnostic and interventional catheterizations in the expanding population of adults with congenital heart disease.
