About

Jessica Babal, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatrician and adolescent medicine doctor and associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She also trains residents and medical students.

Dr. Babal treats patients from birth through early adulthood. She diagnoses and treats illness, provides primary care and wellness checks and manages long-term medical conditions.

Dr. Babal’s special clinical interests include caring for new babies and educating and reassuring their parents. She also enjoys holistic care. This means she looks after her patients’ psychological and emotional well-being, in addition to their physical health. When appropriate, she teaches mindfulness skills and breathing exercises to help patients stay calm or focused.

In all aspects of care, Dr. Babal believes that listening is key. She talks with patients and their families, asks open-ended questions and learns what matters most to them. She provides education in easy-to-understand terms and works with families to create effective treatment plans that help her patients live healthy lives. Dr. Babal enjoys guiding children through challenging times and celebrating their successes along the way.

During her free time, Dr. Babal enjoys hiking, writing and painting with watercolors.
