About

Kim Squires, NP, is a UW Health Kids nurse practitioner caring for children with medical conditions that affect their kidneys, including chronic kidney disease, hypertension, kidney stones, nephrotic syndrome and urinary tract infections. She also provides care for children born with only one kidney or only one functioning kidney.

With a special clinical interest in young patients who live with kidney issues and other health issues at the same time, Kim works closely with families and multiple care teams to coordinate their children’s treatment.

Kim’s goal is to help her young patients manage their conditions so they can have happy childhoods and live healthy, productive lives.

Away from the clinic, Kim enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and exploring the outdoors.

I appreciate the innocence of children and the resilience they have. I try to explain the diagnosis and treatment options in terms they and their families can understand. It’s also important for me to listen carefully so I can understand exactly how the families are feeling and address their concerns as well.
