The Dane County Asthma Coalition (DCAC) is a partnership of individuals and local organizations committed to reducing the burden of asthma in Dane County, Wisconsin. This includes improving the health of people with asthma, and reducing asthma's impact on the health care system and wider community.
Dane County Asthma Coalition members include health care organizations and providers, public health representatives, school and child care representatives, environmental advocates, and individuals affected by asthma.
Dane County Asthma Coalition is a local affiliate of the Wisconsin Asthma Coalition.
Mission
Our mission is accomplished through coordinated activities aimed at:
- Improving asthma surveillance (disease tracking) to understand the impact of asthma, in order to target improvement activities
Improving asthma clinical care through education of health care providers and health systems improvements- Improving air quality and other environmental conditions that make asthma more severe, through education and policy
- Improving management of asthma by those with asthma and their caretakers, through outreach and education
