Double Your Impact Update: $500,000 Raised and Matched

Madison, Wisconsin - Donors to the American Family Children’s Hospital have redoubled their commitment to support the children’s hospital by contributing more than $1 million to the “Sick Kids Can’t Wait” campaign in just five weeks.

Since November 30 and through the end of February, children’s hospital supporters have pledged to match every dollar contributed to “Sick Kids Can’t Wait.” So far during the three-month fundraising blitz called “Double Your Impact,” $500,000 has been donated for a total matching contribution of $1 million.

“Sick Kids Can’t Wait” is a four-year, $32 million building project to meet the growing needs of patients and families at American Family Children’s Hospital. It is the first phase of a 10-year strategic plan to complete American Family Children’s Hospital on the UW Health campus. The project will add 26 beds in pediatric intensive care, another operating room and imaging capabilities within the children’s hospital. All the facilities will be designed and equipped specifically for pediatric patients.
