Grand Gala Raises $676,000 for American Family Children's Hospital
Madison, Wisconsin - American Family Children’s Hospital announced today that the Madison community has raised more than $676,000 at a fundraising event sponsored by Merrill Lynch.
More than 600 people attended the seventh annual Gala at the University of Wisconsin Gordon Event Center and raised funds for the children’s hospital’s “Sick Kids Can’t Wait” campaign, a private effort to raise $16.4 million.
“Sick Kids Can’t Wait” is the first phase of a strategic plan that will add 26 critical care beds, imaging and heart services at American Family Children’s Hospital.
“We are so pleased to have been selected as the beneficiary of this gala 2013,” said UW Hospital and Clinics President and CEO Donna Katen-Bahensky. “With the support of the amazing leadership and staff of Merrill Lynch, we are one step closer to providing all children the care that they need, right here in Madison.”
Each year, Merrill Lynch selects a local cause to dedicate the Grand Gala. American Family Children’s Hospital was the chosen recipient in 2013.
“The Merrill Lynch-Madison office is proud to sponsor this fundraising gala,” said Ryan Behling, Chair, Merrill Lynch Grand Gala. “The Children’s Hospital is a vital resource in our community and touches the lives of children and families through the region. Our employees are honored to support the Sick Kids Can’t Wait campaign and be part of the expansion at American Family Children’s Hospital.”
