Disorder of Sex Development (DSD)
American Family Children's Hospital's in Madison, Wisconsin offers care for children with disorders of sex development (DSD).
What are disorders of sex development?
Sex development means the progression of the physical parts of your bodies that have to do with gender - being male or female. All children experience many stages of sex development, when they are young and through their lives. Puberty - when a child's body changes to that of a sexually mature man or woman - may be the most obvious, but sex development starts at the moment of conception and continues through late adulthood.
