Amazing Kids, Amazing Stories: Savannah's Story
Savannah was born with a hole in her heart, detected during an examination that revealed a murmur.
Doctors hoped the hole would get smaller as Savannah got older but soon the decision was made: Savannah would need to have surgery to repair the hole.
Of her daughter's American Family Children's Hospital medical team Savannah's mother says, "The doctors are wonderful, and the nurses are very caring, too. I love how they include you in their discussion about what they're going to do with your child. If she needs anything else, this is where I'm coming."
