Down Syndrome Clinic
The Down Syndrome Clinic serves infants, children and adolescents 18 years and younger with a diagnosis of Down syndrome. Our clinic services include:
- Initial and follow-up visits to address current concerns related to Down syndrome.
- Genetic counseling provided in conjunction with our Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism team
- Evaluation and clinical care of Down syndrome patients in the areas of feeding, growth, development, communication, behavior, hearing and therapy
Clinic visits are individualized according to the needs of the infant or child as identified by their parents/guardians and follow the American Academy of Pediatrics Standards in the Care of Children with Down Syndrome. Our clinic advocates multidisciplinary care and features faculty and staff from development pediatrics, audiology, social work, genetics and genetic counseling, and speech-language pathology, who collaborate with UW Health subspecialists as well as the patients' primary care doctor.
