About

Brittany Allen, MD, is a pediatrician at UW Health. Dr. Allen cares for children and adolescents from birth through their early 20s. She treats a wide range of conditions and provides preventive care.

Dr. Allen’s special interests include adolescent health and affirming care for LGBTQ+ youth and families. She also provides care for common conditions such as colds, ear infections, asthma and chronic mental health conditions, like depression or anxiety.

Dr. Allen enjoys working together with her patients on their health journey. She believes it is important to integrate patient education into quality health care. Understanding that there are often multiple right answers to any question, she enjoys working with her patients and their families to determine the next steps that are best for their situation.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Allen is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Allen’s research focuses on advocacy, education and research to support the health and health care experiences of LGBTQ+ youth and their families.

Outside of work, she enjoys reading, hiking, running and being outside with her family.
