Catharine B. Garland, MD

About

Catherine Garland, MD, UW Health plastic surgeon, is the director of the UW Health Kids Cleft and Craniofacial Anomalies Clinic and the co-director of the Birthmarks and Vascular Anomalies Program. She provides surgical treatment for children with complex congenital (present at birth) craniofacial conditions such as cleft lips and cleft palates and she offers a full range of plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery services for adults, including facial reconstruction, breast reduction and wound reconstruction.

Dr. Garland is interested in the field of plastic surgery because it involves a lot of problem-solving and the fact that no two patients are the same. She is on a continual quest to achieve the best results for each of her patients.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Garland is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

In her free time, Dr. Garland enjoys spending time outdoors.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is working with families to figure out what a successful care plan looks like. Because each patient is unique, so is their treatment plan.
