About

David Kunstman, MD, is a family medicine doctor at UW Health and an associate clinical professor and the interim chief medical officer of the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Kunstman cares for patients of all ages. He treats sudden, acute conditions that need immediate attention and chronic conditions that require ongoing care. With a passion for preventive medicine, Dr. Kunstman works to help patients stay well through regular checkups, screenings and healthy lifestyle counseling.

As an active person himself, Dr. Kunstman’s special interests include treating sports injuries and helping patients navigate their electronic medical records. He believes it’s important to explain medical terms and conditions in ways that patients can easily understand.

In his personal time, Dr. Kunstman enjoys staying active, running, biking and swimming. He is also a talented photographer.

When I first meet patients, I like to take time to get to know them – their profession, a bit about their family, what they do for fun. My ultimate goal is to help patients prevent or manage health issues so they can enjoy life.
