About

Emily Hesselink, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric anesthesiologist and serves as the director of pediatric transplant anesthesia.

Dr. Hesselink’s patients range in age from the sickest premature infants to critically ill toddlers and teens. She works closely with her colleagues from many pediatric specialties.

Dr. Hesselink not only provides excellent clinical care, but also impacts the community through her role as an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Anesthesiology. She teaches fellows, residents and medical students the latest techniques and industry standards for anesthesiology.

I chose anesthesiology, and more specifically pediatric anesthesiology, because it allows me to help take care of patients when they are most vulnerable. I enjoy working with children and their families to make it the best experience I can for them.
