Kathleen A. Kastner, MD

About

Kathleen Kastner, MD, is a UW Health Kids developmental pediatrician at UW Health and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Kastner evaluates and treats children with developmental delays, speech and language disorders, learning differences, autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities and many other issues. She also cares for children with an increased risk for developmental concerns due to premature birth or a complex medical history.

Using a strengths-based approach, Dr. Kastner works with families to identify each child’s challenges, celebrate their unique strengths and look for ways to support their growth and development. Her goal is to help patients reach their fullest potential, whatever that might be, at home, at school and in life.

To provide the highest quality of comprehensive care, Dr. Kastner often partners with other specialists, including speech, physical, and occupational therapists and psychologists, to develop individualized care plans for each child.

Dr. Kastner also works to improve developmental and behavioral pediatrics training for medical students and residents.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Kastner enjoys spending time with her husband and children.

I partner with families to help their children thrive, shoot for the stars and reach their fullest potential in all aspects of life.
