About

Mala Mathur, MD, is a UW Health pediatrician and an associate professor and the director of professional development in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Mathur uses an integrative health approach to promote the well-being of children and families.

Dr. Mathur diagnoses and treats acute or sudden illnesses, infections and injuries as well as chronic (long term) conditions such as asthma and allergies in infants, children and young adults. She also treats pediatric behavioral health disorders.

Dr. Mathur also provides preventive care that includes well-child checkups, routine health exams and individualized guidance and education tailored to the unique needs of each patient and their family.

Dr. Mathur conducts research that studies the latest integrative approaches to pediatric care, mind body practices and parents’ interest in learning about and using integrative health therapies in addition to traditional medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Mathur enjoys gardening and cooking with her vegetable and herb harvests. She also enjoys traveling with her family.
