About

Megan Peters, MD, specializes in caring for sick or injured children who need sedation for minor medical procedures such as biopsies or spinal taps. She also serves as the director of the Diagnostic and Therapy Center.

With a great love for treating children, Dr. Peters works to keep her young patients comfortable, calm and safe. She creates personalized sedation plans and often collaborates with nurses and child life specialists to help children cope with any anxiety they might experience.

Dr. Peters’ clinical interests include safe and effective natural airway sedation. This means that children are sedate and calm without the aid of a breathing tube. She also has expertise in sedating children for MRI scans and minimally invasive surgeries.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Peters serves as an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Division of Critical Care. She researches ways to ensure that health systems are safe, efficient and patient-centered.

During her free time, Dr. Peters enjoys baking, jogging and outdoor activities with family.

My job is to keep children safe, calm and comfortable during their procedures.
