About

Sushant Srinivasan, MD, is a pediatrician UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital. He specializes in treating children with acute and critical care needs due to illness, injury or other conditions, including sepsis and respiratory failure.

In the pediatric intensive care unit, Dr Srinivasan partners with other physicians and nurses to help their young patients recover. He believes it’s important to consider the critical role parents play in their children’s care.

Dr. Srinivasan is also an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics, and serves as medical director of the UW Health Clinical Simulation Program. This program provides realistic learning opportunities to train health care professionals across the organization and the community and allows opportunities to improve care of critically ill children. Dr. Srinivasan considers it a “privilege to help patients and families heal after a severe illness.”

When we include parents on the care team, the child’s health often recovers faster.
