Recycle Old or Damaged Car Seats on April 25

American Family Children's Hospital Safety Center car seat recycle day: Child in car seatMadison, Wisconsin - American Family Children's Hospital in conjunction with the Safe Kids Madison Area Coalition is sponsoring a car seat recycle day on Saturday, April 25 from 9-11am in the parking lots outside of Kohl’s at West Towne and East Towne malls in Madison.

“If a car or booster seat is more than six years old or has been involved in a car crash, it should be recycled,” said Nicole Vesely, Safe Kids coordinator at American Family Children’s Hospital.

Vesely says car and booster seats from garage sales and thrift stores and unused car seats also may be taken to the recycling drop-off points.

Car and booster seats will be taken apart and all plastic will be recycled.
