McCarthys Raise $325,000 for Sick Kids
Madison, Wisconsin - Green Bay Packers Coach Mike McCarthy and his wife, Jessica, raised $325,000 for American Family Children’s Hospital this week as part of the fourth annual McCarthy Golf Tournament. In the four years of the event, the McCarthys have raised $825,000.
The funds go to the children’s hospital’s “Sick Kids Can’t Wait” campaign, a four-year, $32 million expansion project to meet the growing needs of patients and families.
The McCarthys toured the expansion project that will add a total of 26 pediatric intensive care beds including a neonatal intensive care unit, an additional operating room and a specially-designed pediatric imaging suite. The expansion project will be completed in 2014.
“We are honored that the McCarthys have chosen American Family Children’s Hospital as the McCarthy Family Foundation’s legacy charity,” said UW Hospital and Clinics president and CEO Donna Katen-Bahensky. “As co-chairpersons of ‘Sick Kids Can’t Wait,’ the McCarthys help spread the word about the community’s jewel of a children’s hospital.”
