Our specialists routinely meet with patients and families to provide the support and guidance children and families need during this difficult time.

Treatments and Services
- Individual and group psychotherapy for children, adolescents and their families with a clinical psychologist
- Assistance with problems such as peer or sibling relationships, low self-esteem, depression and anxiety, coping with chronic illness and behavioral or developmental difficulties
- Psychological therapy and support for individuals and families
- Family education regarding behavioral compliance and understanding and coping with illness
- Relaxation and coping strategies to reduce pain and anxiety
- Minimizing disruption of normal child development as a result of hospitalization
- Supporting patient and sibling adjustments to traumatic injury or chronic illness
- Providing support around issues of death and dying
- Ongoing consultation/intervention services to support child's return to normal life after a hospital stay
- Assistance with management of stresses related to growing up, including communication, school and peer pressure
- Medication management
