Amazing Kids, Amazing Stories: Emma's Story
When Emma Theiler was born, both of her feet were bent - a condition known as club foot.
Dr. Blaise Nemeth at American Family Children's Hospital used the Ponseti approach to treat Emma's feet, performing a minor surgery and casting her feet and legs. The technique uses foot manipulation and casting to correct the deformity.
The Ponseti approach was a great success for Emma. Tremendous improvement was seen after just her first casting, and three years later, she is running, skipping and jumping like a normal child. Watch her story.
