American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, is committed to providing the highest quality care possible for children and families. Here we share our performance on important measures of quality across multiple nationally recognized areas of quality and safety for all to see.
We recognize that investing in leadership and in a healthy, collaborative work culture of engaged staff is important. Moreover, high nurse turnover in health care facilities can negatively affect the ability of hospitals to meet patient needs and provide quality care. It is important because in order to provide excellent patient care, we need the right number of nurses to meet our patients’ needs.
Turnover rate is a way to understand the well-being of the nurses working at our hospital. This measure is created by tracking nurses who voluntarily or involuntarily leave employment versus all pediatric nurses. Turnover rates for our pediatric nurses our low, as demonstrated below.
Lower percentages are better.
